Dear all,

In case you haven't seen the news on our website/e-news. we are pleased to announce the first ever Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Week in the UK, a week dedicated solely to raising awareness of RA. The week will be held from Monday 24th June to Sunday 30th June and the focus this year is that young people get RA too.

Many of our supporters have told us that a common response to mentioning their RA is “my granny gets a bit of that,” so we want to dispel the myth that RA is a disease of the elderly, caused by a lifetime of wear and tear. We want to emphasise the important message that it is an autoimmune disease with no age barriers. Most people are still of a working age when onset occurs so it truly is a life changing condition.

Events and activities will be planned throughout the week so watch this space to find out more information about what is happening near you and what you can do to support us. Sign up to our e-newsletter or follow us on Facebook and Twitter to receive updates on RA Week and how you can take part. Please email media@nras.org.uk with any enquiries about RA Week.

This is your week so do get involved and help raise awareness of rheumatoid arthritis!

Have a good week everyone.

Best wishes, Emma

Jane.

BigGrin Hello Emma & everyone

I have put my leaflet up advertising awareness week in my local hospital after physio session earlier today - didn't take a photo - I will if it is still up next week!

Also left recent NRAS magazine in the waiting room.

I am happy to receive extra as I have different hospitals/departments and a doctors return to work appointment in 2 weeks time if you are happy to post extra magazines.

Thanku
Jane
